Mission Statement

Established in 1969, Alpha Beacon Christian School has served thousands of families on the San Francisco mid-peninsula with a strong, traditional Bible-based education. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the school is governed by a Board of Directors.  An advisory Prayer Board meets monthly to discuss and pray over school matters.

Alpha Beacon has been granted formal accreditation for grades K-12 since 1991 by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), which has a membership of over 5000 schools representing more than one million students all over the world.  Over the years, the accrediting visitation teams have commended the school for:

  • Maintaining a program that develops and promotes strong spiritual, academic, social and physical achievement
  • Maintaining a consistent and uniform discipline system
  • Promoting student participation in the visual and performing arts
  • Maintaining a budget that demonstrates self-sufficiency and spiritual stewardship.

Discipline and order are evident in classrooms, providing an atmosphere for optimum learning. Most important of all, scriptural principles are integrated in the Christ-centered curriculum and practiced in the lifestyle of the teachers and in the daily operation of the school.

Character training is a strong focal point at Alpha Beacon.  Whether playing on the playground, performing on stage, or participating in academic or athletic competition, these activities are opportune moments to instill character traits, such as respect for authority, industriousness, kindness, honesty, responsibility, and loyalty.

Annual standardized test scores for both the elementary and high school levels are typically one to two years above the national average.  Several of our high school students have received perfect scores on the SAT reasoning test and several AP subject tests.  Alpha Beacon also enhances its curriculum with the integration of technology in the classroom.

Beacon Christian High graduates have attended and graduated from many prestigious colleges and universities, including Biola University, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, Northwestern University, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.  Some of our alumni are presently pursuing vocations in the military, medicine, dentistry, politics, education, journalism, business and as missionaries. You often see alumni visiting the campus and at various school events because they have fond memories of their time at Beacon.  Some alumni have even returned to be on the school staff because they believe in the vital ministry of the school.

Working side by side with parents and churches, Alpha Beacon Christian School continues its mission to education and train godly leaders for tomorrow.


Alpha Beacon Christian School offers families and churches in our community a Bible-based education with emphasis on character training in order to prepare young people to become the godly leaders of tomorrow. The purpose of the school is threefold:

1. To assist parents in their God-given role as primary educators.

2. To provide a Christian environment in which students may pursue a mastery of various academic disciplines necessary to become productive members in their community.

3. To work closely with the local churches in the ministry to the family.

To support the three-fold purpose of the school, students will be trained to apply the principles of the Bible to their daily lives. Our programs will focus on the development of Christian character, leadership skills, social graces, and the appreciation for culture as expressed through the fine and performing arts. Our academic instruction will include training in several subject areas emphasizing the skills of reading, writing, and oral communication. Students will be instructed in mathematical reasoning, computation and application. They will also be trained to maintain proper levels of physical fitness.
